CHARLES WILLIAMSON

Tenor

Charles opened his 2020-21 season with a return to the NYC recital stage in the Fourth Annual Recital for Refugees, which from its inception has raised over $9,000 for the International Rescue Committee.

Last season, Charles made his Metropolitan Opera house debut as an ensemble member of The Met Opera Chorus in their Grammy nominated 2019 new production of Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. Other ensemble career highlights include performances in The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s signature choreographic work, Revelations.

​

A consummate recitalist, Charles works to program traditional classical repertoire alongside lesser-known and contemporary classical masterworks composed by women and composers of color.

​

Upcoming engagements during the second half of the season, include Opera at Florham’s Valentine’s Musicale entitled, Opera’s Greatest Love Stories in February 2021 and in April 2021, a concert entitled I Too, Sing America with the touring art-song performance group, Calliope’s Call, in support of their mission to promote the genre of art-song as well as raise awareness surrounding issues of social justice.

Charles is a native of Passaic, New Jersey and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance at North Carolina Central University and his Master of Music Degree in Performance and Vocal Pedagogy at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

MARY PINTO

Artistic Director & Piano Accompanist

Mary Pinto, an accompanist and vocal coach, has worked with international opera singers and major American opera companies for the past 25 years. 

​

Ms. Pinto's career began as a rehearsal pianist for noted opera companies:  Dallas Opera, Chicago's Lyric Opera, Omaha Opera, and others. In 2012, Ms. Pinto coached and was rehearsal pianist for Metropolitan Opera star and international soprano Deborah Voigt as she prepared for the three Brünhilde roles for the Met's production of Wagner's ​Ring Cycle​ which was featured in the documentary Wagner’s Dream: The Making of the Met's Ring Cycle ​and premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.

In 2014, she performed with Opera Noire's Ensemble in the American Embassy in Moscow and St. Petersburg; spent last three summers as coaching staff at Masterclass d' Ischia, Italy. 

​

Since 2007 Ms. Pinto has been on the faculty of Montclair State University as a private coach, accompanist, and to prepare students for opera productions. She serves as the Vice-President and Artistic Director for Opera at Florham while maintaining coaching studios in New Jersey and New York City.

Mary received her Bachelor’s degree in Music for piano performance from DePauw University and a Master’s in Music degree for piano and voice accompaniment from University of Illinois.

MOLLY DUNN

Soprano

Molly Dunn hails from South Orange, New Jersey, a community thriving in the arts.

She made her operatic debut as an Apprentice Artist at the Miami Music Festival, singing Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte and performing in the Zarzuela concert series.

Favorite musical theatre credits include Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, Johanna u/s in Sweeney Todd, and Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Babette in Beauty and the Beast and Carlotta (cover) in Phantom.

She was a Finalist and Special Award Winner in the 2017 Lotte Lenya Competition. She is a winner of the Vienna Summer Music Festival Competition and made her international debut as Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica at the Wiener Kammeroper in Vienna. Molly was scheduled to sing Mimì in La Bohème in Morelia, Mexico, summer 2020. While these performances were cancelled due to Covid-19, Molly performed La Bohème locally and virtually in concert!

In response to the pandemic, Molly has been producing a new concert series called Stoop Opera in Downtown Jersey City. The latest concert, A Zombie Opera Mask-erade was the socially distanced hit of the season. molly-dunn.com @mollysdunn
